NOVEMBER 2006 NEWSLETTER

Pro’s Corner

It appears as if “Old Man Winter” is wanting to show his face earlier than normal this year! However, I’m optimistic that we will still have a spell of nice weather that will allow us to all dust off the clubs for one more time. Joe and I have decided that we might attempt to have an Impromptu Best Shot if it looks like we will have some extremely nice weather on a Sunday in November. Please look for postings or call the club house if you see nice weather in the future! If I have your e mail address I will send you an e mail notification. If I don’t have your e mail address please e mail me at the Club so I can add you to my list, iccpgapro@hotmail.com. The event will be a 4 - Person Best Shot flighted at the end open to members and guests.

A Note From Your Food Service Manager

To Members:
Things have been exciting since I started in August of this year. I have had so many members with positive comments about the food. I have also had requests for Friday night dinners. As we move into the holiday season, it is hard to have every Friday night open at the club for an event. I have chosen November 17 and December 1 to have a Friday night dinner. I think that we will start out on November 17 with a small steak, potato, and salad. I am not sure what we will do in December. I would really suggest reservations as this is so helpful when planning. I am positive that I can take care of last minute requests, if possible. Please call to make your reservation and look forward to dining in the upstairs dining area.
Thanks,
Ruth

Tournament Results

Congratulations to the winners of the October tournaments. In the Club Ryder Cup Mike Lathrop and John O'Hair won the Men's Division with a 9 under par score of 98 besting Kyle Matzen and Matt Jones by 3 shots. Jeff Raymond and Vickie Andersen topped Keith Monson and Mary Zimmerman by 1 stroke in the Mixed Division. Denny Marks won the Men's Association Flag Tournament. For complete results of all the tournaments click here.

New Television and Sunday Football

Thanks to the Men's Association for their contribution towards the purchase of the new plasma TV in the downstairs bar. We have traditionally been closed on Sundays in the winter. On Sundays in November we will open at noon, even if the weather is not suitable for golf, on a trail basis for those who want to come out and watch football on the new TV. If there is a good crowd we will stay open on Sundays during the winter. Come on out and support your club.
Late Fall Golf
Joe will keep the course open as long as the good weather holds. The clubhouse will open at 10 am on weekdays and 8:00 am on weekends while the course is open and the weather is OK for golf. When the course closes or the weather is unsuitable for golf we will be on winter hours. When playing in the mornings please be alert to frost and stay off the course until you are sure all the frost is gone. Walking or driving on frost will damage the grass. Also, as the grass stops growing we may move to cart path only to protect the turf. Watch for the signs. There should be some nice warm fall days left so enjoy some fall golf when you can.

High School Golf Thanks from Coach Mike Sheil

On behalf of myself and the IHS Boys golf team, we want to thank the ICC, its members, Board of Directors, and President Werner Kolln for allowing us to use their facility during our golf season. Thanks also to Joe and Jason for all of their help.
The golf season went well and was very successful, and a large part of that is due to all of you.
Thanks again,
Mike Sheil, IHS Boys Golf Coach

New Years Eve Party

It’s not too early to start planning for the Club New Years Eve Party. Our band will be the fabulous Good Time Oldies Band. They were a big hit at two previous parties so mark it on your calendar to attend this year. Watch future newsletters for more details.

Nominations Wanted

Country Club elections will be coming up at the end of the year. Nominations are needed for one Board of Trustee position and 3 Board of Directors positions. I know that there are many of you out there who have the abilities to make a contribution to your club. The Nominations Committee is the outgoing members of the Board, Nicki Brown, Brian Poindexter and Matt Jones. Please let them or someone on the board know if you are interested in running.
