Elections:
The ballot has been finalized and should be in the mail to each member any day now. Please remember that one ballot will be sent per membership. Please take a minute to complete the ballot and either mail it to the club or drop it off. The right of every member to vote is an important part of the process of making sure the Board of Directors is made up of members that represent the entire membership, not just the 150 to 160 members that typically turn in ballots. Ballots will be accepted until 6:00 pm on January 16th. The results will be announced that evening at the annual meeting. Thanks in advance for voting. You can read a little about each candidate on the last two pages of this newsletter.
New Year’s Eve Party:
The club’s New Year’s Eve party is coming up this Saturday night. Just want to mention that this party is always a great night of entertainment for a low low price. The band, Split Second, has performed for the club for the last few years and they put on a great show with songs you all know and they are fun to dance to. If you consider the dinner prices, the live entertainment and champagne at midnight I challenge anyone to find a better bargain on New Year’s Eve. It would be really fun to fill the place and have a wild party like we use to in the “old days”. Don’t forget to sign up in advance.

Board of Directors Candidates:
Greg Brangers
My name is Greg Brangers. I’ve been a resident of Indianola since 1977. My wife of 33 years, Debbie, and I have been members of the Indianola Country Club since 1991. We have 2 grown married sons who have blessed us with four grandchildren. We are members of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. My current employer of 19 years is Indianola Municipal Utilities. I have been a member of the Nash Field Airport Association for 11 years and currently serve as President. Debbie and I recently started a new business selling and servicing golf cars. I am running for board because I feel all members should be involved in supporting our club. It is my hope that I can improve membership and help maintain and improve the course in a conservative manner.
Chuck Brice
I recently retired from Kemin Industries, in Des Moines, as Senior Vice President for the human health division, which I started in 1994. My responsibilities included building a global sales and marketing organization and introducing FloraGLO Lutein into the vitamin and dietary supplement industries both domestically and internationally. Prior to joining Kemin in 1991, I was employed by Pioneer Hi-Bred International and involved in sales, marketing and business development. My extensive travel and business commitments over the years have meant, other than playing golf, I have not being able to serve the club in any other fashion and I would like to do so, now that I have the time. Other than my interest in playing golf, while attending school, I had the opportunity to work summers in the grounds and greens keeping organizations of a private country club in Central New York and I have had an interest in these areas of a club’s operation since then. My wife, Linda, and I have been members of the Indianola Country Club since 1972 and have enjoyed the transition and improvements of the course and clubhouse over the years and I would like to help ensure these trends can continue.
Kevin Halterman
I have been a member of the Indianola Country Club since 1995. I am running for my third term on the board. As the club treasure I have a vested interest in insuring that our dues are affordable while maintaining a cashflow that allows long term financial stability. I am proud that we have one of the best courses in central Iowa and pledge to maintain this status. I am employed by Peoples Bank as President/CEO. Cheryl my wife is a Registered Nurse for Iowa Methodist and my two daughters ages 15 and 12, Kayla and Erin are active with school activities. I appreciate your support and feel free to contact me with any questions.
Jon Proctor
My wife Carol and I live adjacent to the course and have been active members of ICC since 2002. We enjoy golfing and the social activities ICC provides to our members. I have been a member of the men’s association since 2002. Carol and I have voluntarily served on a number of committees in the past with the club. I typically play 4-5 times per week and this provides me an opportunity to continually monitor course conditions, consistency of maintenance of the course, and observing maintenance of areas that maybe deficient. I received a B.S. in Mathematics in 1972 from Upper Iowa University as well as earning the Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter designations in the financial services field. I am a private Financial Advisor for the Indianola area. My experience includes management and training responsibilities spanning my career over the last 30 years. As a board member I will look for improving financial efficiency and initiatives within the club to help control expenditures and dues for members. In addition, I welcome any members to contact me and let me know any concerns they may have. I believe transparency and communication to members on issues is vital to our club and for our future success. Thank you.
Board of Trustees Candidate
Randy Crum
My wife, Janet and I became members in the fall of 2004. The first thing I noticed after joining, was how friendly and welcoming the membership was, and how challenging the course was. That is why I am running for board of Trustees, to help meet the upcoming challenges of the club and help grow membership. My life has changed dramatically in the last year as I went from an independent contractor for Fed Ex Ground for over 14 years to now being the owner/operator of the Corner Sundry. I think my business experience will help in making tough decisions to guide us through the next few years. ICC is the best kept secret in Central Iowa. I will try to expand the membership growth while trying to keep the internal flame going through club activities and communication. It would be an honor to serve this great membership. Thank you for your consideration.
