TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
            The club holds a variety of tournaments and other golf events for the enjoyment of the members and to promote our course in the local golf community.  Advanced sign-up is required for tournaments to allow for better organization.  Check your calendar or monthly newsletter and sign-up in the clubhouse.  The tournament schedule including the tournament formats is below.  Tournament prizes are paid in "Country Club Bucks" which can be used for food, drink, rental carts, green fees or pro shop items.  Members are strongly urged to spend Country Club Bucks won in 2010 by December 31, 2010.

Tournament Gold Tee Policy - For club tournaments where gold tees are allowed, players 60 and up who have at least 10 of the last 20 rounds in the computer from the gold tees may play from the gold tees in the tournament.  Players can continue to use any tees for casual play, but the restriction will be in effect for tournaments.

March 30th       Simpson Spring Invitational
This event will be a 10:00 am shotgun start.  The course will be closed until completion of play.

May 9th        Mother’s Day Tournament                    FORMAT CHANGE
Mother Son/Daughter 18 hole division beginning at 9:00 am
This event will be flighted after 18 holes.  Format = modified alternate shot.
**We would like to invite all Mother Son/Daughters that prefer to play only 9 holes to come out at the completion of the 18 hole event.  The East/Old Nine will be reserved for you to play.

May 15th       ICC Spring Fling – This event is open to both members and nonmembers.  Bring your friends!  We will have couples golf at 5:00 and dinner to follow at about 7:00.  Following dinner there will be a DJ with Karaoke.  This is a chance to get new people out to our club and showcase our course. Please sign up in advance.

May 23rd       Indianola Country Club 4 – Person Best Shot                          
This event is open to all members and non club members.  Space will be limited so sign up early.  Players will form their own teams.  All men play from the white tees and all women from the red tees. All teams in one division.  The tournament will be flighted after 18 holes.  It will be a 9:00 shotgun start.  We will be playing in groups of eight.

May 31st       Memorial Day Tournament 
This will be a four person best shot with an A, B, C, and D player.
 Start time will be 9:00 am shotgun.  Course closed until completion.
GHIN handicap required for participation. Sign up deadline is Saturday May 29that Noon.

June 5th        Indianola Country Club Ladies Invitational
This event is open to all members and non members.  The format will be a two lady best shot.  Registration will be at 7:00 with an 8:00 shotgun start.  The course will be closed until completion.

June 11th       Dan Dowson/Dobbers Up Golf Tournament Fund Raiser

June 16th       Indianola Chamber Golf Classic
This event is open to all members and non members.  The format for this event is a four person best shot.  It will be a 12:30 shotgun start. June 20th       Father’s Day Tournament                     FORMAT CHANGE

June 21st       35th PGA Jr. Qualifier
This event is open to both members and non members.  For more information check the Spring newsletters or visit the Iowa PGA website at www.iowapga.com.  Start times will be determined based on the number of players.

June 25th       Warren County Homebuilders Golf Outing
This event will be a tee time event beginning at 1:00 pm.  Based on the number of players who played last year the 1st tee will be closed until about 2:30.  More information will be in the June Newsletter along with an email reminder.

July 4th        Firecracker Open
This will be a four person best shot with an A, B, C, and D player.  Start time will be a 9:00 a.m. shotgun.  Course closed until completion.

July 10th-11th  Men’s Club Championship     FORMAT CHANGE
This will be a two day event with a regular, senior, and super senior division.  The tournament will be flighted at the completion of 36 holes for all flights except the Championship Flight.  The Championship Flight will be determined at the end of round one with the low 16 and ties and those participants who declared Championship Flight  playing 27 holes from the black tees on Day two.  The Regular Division will be all players ages 49 and under who don’t qualify for the Championship Flight.  Seniors age 50 and over may choose to play in the Senior Division.  All play in this division is from the white tee markers against players ages 50 and over.  Super Senior’s ages 60 and over may choose to play in the Super Senior Division.  All play in this division is from the gold tee markers against players ages 60 and over.  This will be a tee time event beginning at 7:00 a.m

July 16th       4th  Annual Indianola Golf Classic (American Cancer Society Fundraiser)
This outing/fundraiser is open all members and non club members.  The format for this event will be a Four Person Best Shot.  Men will play from the white tees and women will play from the red tees.  This event will be one division and flights will be determined on the number of teams.  All proceeds from this event will be donated to the American Cancer Society. This event will be a Noon Shotgun Start.  Please look for more details on this event in the upcoming newsletters.

July 25th       Women’s Club Championship
This will be a one day event with a regular division along with a senior division.  The tournament will be flighted at the conclusion of 18 holes.  Tee times will begin at 7:30 a.m. Players are allowed to choose their own foursomes.

July 26th       National Guard Outing
This event is put on by the Des Moines National Guard.  Tee times will begin at 7:00 a.m. and be finished by 9:00 a.m.  The first tee will be open at 9:00 a.m.

August 1st        Sole Survivor
This will be six separate tournaments.  The start times are: Sr. Women - 12:00,  Women 12:30 Men’s Super Senior Division - 1:00,  Men’s Senior Division - 1:30, Men’s Open Division - 2:00,  Men’s Championship Division - 2:30.  This tournament will take place on the East/Old Nine.  Qualifiers will be determined by club championship results.
** The West/New nine remains open for play during this event**

August2nd        The Phoenix Outing for CF
This outing/fundraiser is being held in order to help raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's vital research.  Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease that attacks the lungs and pancreas.  The current life expectancy for a person with CF is 37 years.  For more information about CF please visit www.cff.org  The event, THE PHOENIX OUTING FOR CF, is open to both members and non members.  The format will be a four person best shot with men playing from the white tees and women playing from the red tees.  The gold tees will be available for all men 65+.  This event will have one division and flights will be determined on the number of teams in the field.  This event will be a 12:00 Shotgun Start.  The contact person for this event is Murph Hutson.  He can be reached at (515) 745-0194 or at murph.hutson@indianola.k12.ia.us  Please look for more information on this inaugural event in the upcoming newsletters.

August 6th        Couples Night Glow (Pollock)
Come enjoy some night golf! Golf will begin at 9:00 pm/dusk.  Nine holes of “Night Golf” will be played on the East Nine.  Advance sign up is required so that the hosts can purchase the correct amount of night golf supplies

August 15th       Husband/Wife Club Championship
This event is open to both members and non members.  This will be a great way for you to introduce a non member couple to your Club.  Our Club Champion will be determined by the lowest score of a member couple.  The format for this event will be a modified alternate shot.  This event will be flighted after 18 holes.  This event will be a 9:00 Shotgun Start.

August 16th       Indianola High School JV Invitational
This event will be a 10:00 am shotgun start. The course is closed until the completion of play.

August 29th       Indianola Booster Club Classic
This event is open to all members and non club members.  This event fills up every year so space will be limited.  The format for this event will be a Four Person Best Shot.  All Men will play from the White Tees while all Women will play from the Red Tees.  All teams will be in one division.  This event will be flighted at the completion of 18 holes.  It will be a 9:00 Shotgun Start.  Please look for more details on this great event in the upcoming newsletters.

September 5th 6th    Labor Day Tournament
This event will be a 4 – Person Best Shot with an A, B, C, & D player.  There will be a Men’s Division and a Women’s Division.  This will be a two day event with both divisions playing 18 holes each day.  It will be a 9:00 Shotgun start each day.
GHIN handicap required for participation.

September 18th       Year End Couples Event         
Couples 2-Ball at 4:30 – Food and fun to follow.  Check out the September Newsletter for details.

September 19th       Ryder Cup
This will be a 27 hole event with the nines to be played Best Shot, Best Ball, and then Alternate Shot.  This event is open to club members only.  There will be a Men’s Division and a Mixed Division.  The tournament is flighted at the Completion of Play.  Tee times will begin at 8:00 a.m.

September 25th       Men’s Flag Tournament          
This event is open to all members of the Men’s Association.  Participants will be given a flag with a number on it.  The number on their flag will be the course rating from the set of   tees they are playing + their current handicap from that set of tees.  Each player will play until they reach the number on their flag.  The player who advances his flag the furthest is declared the winner.  There is a steak fry at the conclusion of the round.  This is a tee time event in which participants choose their own foursomes. GHIN Handicap required for participation.
The course remains OPEN for regular play during this event.

October 1st         Indianola Chamber Networking Outing
This event is open to all members and non members.  The format for this event is a four person best shot.  It will be a 12:30 shotgun start. October 3rd        Indianola Country Club 4 – Man Best Shot
This event is open to all members and non club members.  It will be limited to the first 36 teams.  Participants will form their own teams.  The tournament will be flighted at the conclusion of play.  It will be a 10:00 a.m. shotgun start.  We will be playing in groups of eight.
Course Closed until the Completion of Tournament.

October 24th       Chili 4 – Person Best Shot
This event is open to both members and non members.  The format for this event will be a 4 – Person Best Shot.  All men will play from the white tees.  All women will play from the red tees.  All teams will be in one division.  The tournament will be flighted after 18 holes.  This event will be an 11:00 Shotgun Start with complimentary Chili to be served at the conclusion of play. Course Closed until the Completion of Tournament.
